To celebrate and give thanks to the inspirational NHS staff on the frontline of the pandemic, Camden Hells lager rebranded as Camden Heroes and offered each NHS worker a six-pack on the house.
To claim their six-pack, NHS workers simply had to enter in a special code at checkout on the brewery’s online shop.
The redesigned Camden Heroes lager cans were also available for the general public to purchase and all proceeds were donated to charities supporting healthcare workers.
In another fundraising initiative, a freshly poured draught pint of beer was auctioned off for £800 and delivered to one loyal beer fan. The proceeds of this auction went to the charity, Hospitality Action.
Camden Brewery also donated 20 000 cans of beer to staff working at NHS hospitals as a ‘thank you’ for their dedication and hard work. Staff were able to enjoy a relaxing drink after a long shift once they were off the clock.
“We had so many people contacting us from hospitals asking for beers to replace their weekly pub team visits. We were more than happy to help, but wanted to do more,” says Camden Town Brewery founder, Jasper Cuppaidge.
This is how Camden Heroes was born.
Jasper continues, “We created Camden Heroes Lager to say a massive thank you to the amazing healthcare workers and show our support the best way we know how – bringing beer. We are so grateful to all the incredible frontline workers risking their lives during this global crisis.”
Camden Town joined other breweries and delivery companies who offered donations and discounts to NHS workers, by offering customers the opportunity to purchase pay-it-forward pints for healthcare staff.
